We went to our first competition on 7th September 2024, in Leicester. Penistone Skate Club’s competitor, on the right, entered the novice class. This is recommended for first-timers, and is for people of any age who want to try out speed skating.
Here’s the race in full swing!
And on the podium after being presented with his 1st place medal – great work, well done!
And here’s dad on a 5 minute break from cheering, taking photos and encouraging.
We had a great day, with 3 or 4 races each and lots to watch in between. Speed skating is a very friendly sport, we were made to feel welcome. Anyone else for next time?
